Drama Theatre After Levon Kalantaryan
The State Drama Theater Gavar named after Levon Kalantar was organized in 1931 on the basis of the folk theater. The first performance was Raffu's historical tragedy "Samvel" in 5 acts. The theater fascinated the audience from its very first performance.
The cast of the theater included such actors as Vaghinak and Varduhi Dovlatyan, R. and A. Azaryans, S. Khachikyan, A. Ghazanchyan, A. African, G. Najarian, A. Nazaretyan, K. Avetisyan-Manvelyan, G. Talyan, directors Ash-Mat (A. Matevosyan), H. Manvelyan, H. Baghdasaryan, K. Vardanyan, painters E. Savoyan, A. Amrazyan, A. Yeganyan and others. "For Honor" by Shirvanzade, "Plato Krechet" by Korneichuk, "another victim" by Gabriel Sundukyan, "Ruzan" by Muratsan, "Love and Fraud" by Friedrich Schiller, A. Babayanh "The Heart Calls" and other plays.
